Founded in 1980 by the Conover family, our mission is to teach technically correct, proper and safe woodworking, weaving and spinning. Our standards of teaching are the highest, and all our instructors are acknowledged leaders in their fields. Year-round programs provide a relaxing atmosphere and we boast graduates from every state in the Union, all the provinces of Canada and a good many foreign countries. The school is located in Parkman, Ohio. |

After 11 years and nearly 6,000 students, it’s become personal. The school no longer exists because of hard work, outstanding instructors, a world-class facility or because of a great staff of assistants. The school now exists because of students that have over the years become dear and special friends. Friends that have devoted personal time, committed resources, made individual sacrifices and have become loyal to me and my family. I am driven to share my passion for woodworking, but together, as friends, we will keep the craft alive, fresh and exciting. The school is located in Franklin, Indiana. |

In 1925, the Folk School began its work with its founders hopeful that the quality of life could be improved by education, and in turn wanted to preserve and share with the rest of the world the wonderful crafts, techniques and tools that the mountain people used in every day life. Today, The John C. Campbell Folk School offers a unique combination of arts and crafts classes & instruction, rich history, beautiful mountain surroundings, and an atmosphere of living and learning together. Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts offers art classes and craft classes for everyone from the novice to the professional. Craft education is the reason and being for Arrowmont, and for over 50 years the school has dedicated its resources to nurturing the creative talents of individuals. In 1945, 50 students attended the first summer craft workshops at Arrowmont, taught by faculty from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Each summer, as the craft movement grew, the program offered more media choices and began to focus its mission on a comprehensive art and craft school that would reach an even larger number of students. In the new millennium, Arrowmont is committed to remaining one of the leading international craft schools. The school is located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. |

Joe Graham has been a full-time chairmaker for 16 years, and a workshop instructor for 8 years. Joe offers week long workshops throughout the year at his shop, Lenox Workshops. The $790-850 fee includes meals, private room off the shop, all materials and instruction. Participants create the entire chair, including turning ring and baluster legs, and carving knuckles on most chairs. Single board seats are used in most workshops. Some tools are provided. Classes run from Sunday evening-Saturday noon and are limited to 6 students per class. The workshop is located in a country setting and offers an intense woodworking experience. The school is located in Jefferson, Ohio. |
